Interesting 50D comment from Imaging Resource.

This is the last sentence in the 50D preview."If the shipping version's 15-megapixel ISO 800 images look as buttery smooth as I saw in the preproduction unit, the Canon 50D will be the one to beat."For anybody interested, here is a link to the entire text.http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/E50D/E50DA.HTMDon't know about you but I'd feel a lot better if the sentence read "buttery smooth noise without compromising detail extraction". OTOH, saying "50D will be the one to beat" is a very strong statement. LOL, it would be nice to hear what the press secretary has to say tomorrow regarding what was meant when the article went to press.Regards,Joe KurkjianGalleries:http://www.pbase.com/jkurkjiaSEARCHING FOR A BETTER SELF PORTRAIT

The 50 will do 'better' than the 40D...I mean no sarcasm here....I'm on the fence over replacing my 5D with a MK2 or now I'm looking hard at the 50D,I have a 40D...It looks like the so called noise will be about the same, wonderfull job considering the MP's...Maybe more detail for landscapes, more cropping, what about the AF,my 40D does a respectfull job on bif's but it could be better,it's no 1 series of course...Without seeing real world shots I guess it's wait and see?..Bob

I have no doubt it will be a great camera and quite much better than my 20D it will replace. The only question is how much better. We will soon find out. People are starting to take delivery of the camera right at this moment.

I see your line of reasoning and have to agree with you ... a nice warm feeling is coming back, thanks.Regards,Joe KurkjianGalleries:http://www.pbase.com/jkurkjiaSEARCHING FOR A BETTER SELF PORTRAIT

It looks like Canada and Europe will take deliver before the US; I'm afraid we are stuck here for at least a couple of weeks.Regards,Joe KurkjianGalleries:http://www.pbase.com/jkurkjiaSEARCHING FOR A BETTER SELF PORTRAIT

I hear you about the "wait and see"; I hate the "wait" part and can hardly wait (no pun intended) for the "see" part.Regards,Joe KurkjianGalleries:http://www.pbase.com/jkurkjiaSEARCHING FOR A BETTER SELF PORTRAIT
