Getting a 40D shortly. Have $2000 to spend on lenses. Indoor sports/indoor family/kids, travel (so i need wide-a), outdoors (no animals), some outdoor sports.Pretty firm on the70-200mm F4/L ($560) 1.4 or 2x tele-converter ($300)Not wed to Canon. Sigma is ok as well (build quality looks very acceptable)a) Do I need IS on the 70-200? -- it will burn through $500 almost.b) Spend my remaining $640-1140c) The 135mm F/2 is gorgeous - - do I need it/can I afford it.Thanks in advance - - I am beginning to go in circles on this one.

Just a note on the 70-200f4. I have it, but if I was going to use tele-converters with it I would rather get the 2.8 version since you loose a few stops of speed depending on which one you get. In good light (late afternoon - evening) it is hard to hold the f4 version steady enough at 200mm, so either the IS version or the 2.8. Other than that I would get the 24-105... Where's the calculator???olobo64wrote:Getting a 40D shortly. Have $2000 to spend on lenses.
