No budget for Canon 17-55 . My 50D arrived next week, any better lens or alternative to this A16, any flash exposure problem with this lens in Canon body ? I encounter the problem with Nikon body previously. Thanks

and Love it! I plan to get the 50D and use it also. It's a great lens on the Canon side.

I have it for my 400D (XTi) and love it. I've ordered the 50D with the 18-200 kit and will be using the 18-200 for my "outdoor/walk-around" lens and the 17-50 for my "indoor/low-light" lens.

I have this lens on my 30D and you need to use an external flash at the wide end because the onboard flash will hit the lens and make a shadow on the photo. I'm using the 17-50 with the 40D and it works fine. Maybe it lacks a little bit of contrast, but it's a great lens for the price.
