Sharp Images

Zeee

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this but here it goes. This has been bugging me for quite some time. I shoot in RAW. Why is it when I view my images in DPP the clarity and sharpness is outstanding. The images are so crisp Then when I convert in either DPP, ACR, Bibble Pro or RSE the image looks worse. I'm well aware of all the shrapening methods, etc. No matter what I do I can never get it to look as good. They even look much worse when resized for web. Landscapes with trees and grass look awfull. There has to something I'm missing.

Are you sharpening both before and after a resize?

Zeee

After

Jeff Varszegi

Try sharpening both before and after.

That is odd. I would recommend taking all sharpness out during conversion and adding your sharpening in PS. From what I've read in-camera sharpening sharpens everything and doesn't give you the control that USM or Smart Sharpen does. I find my pictures look better.Zee Charwrote:I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this but here it goes. This has been bugging me for quite some time. I shoot in RAW.
