Good news! Since it's in stock and sold and shipped by Amazon, BestBuy and others will meet the price. Anyone who wants one of these obviously special lenses can buy from several suppliers.[and it's not even April Fool's Day yet!]

Amazon's just trying to recoup all the money they lost on DPR.

I've seen this kind of thing on other vendors'  sites as well. I guess they don't want to say "Out of stock", so they stick in a ridiculous price as a placeholder.If the price is ever ridiculous in the other direction, then the vendor's got trouble.
