EOS 60D versus T3I-either have continual auto focus/video? Any other differences?

I have narrowed it down between these two cameras. Both are around the same price. Both have articulating LCDs. Do either have them continual AF while filming video? What are the other major differences between the two, if any? Someone told me the T3i is essentially just an EOS 60 D.

No Continuous Auto-Focus in Video. If you want continuous, try Sony A33/A55 SLT. However, SLT camera do tend to overheat when shooting video with image stabilization on.The major difference is ViewFinder Size, continuous shooting, faster 5.3 fps, and thicker grip, longer battery. Both are great camera, you can't go wrong with either of them

Actually, the T3i is much closer to the T2i than the 60D

60D is way better camera, don't even think of T3i...

I was able to play around with the T2i and take some test shots. Video didn't come out that good which I was surprised since I thought it was focused.Unfortunately the 60D would not boot up so I wasn't able to take any test images with it and try out the interface. I will try a different Best Buy tomorrow.I am trying to choose one before this weekend.

The 60d is by far the better camera - better viewfinder, af system, controls, burst speed and more... Basically it is just the higher model in the Canon range. The fact they are similar in price at the moment is more down to the fact that the 600d is very new - cameras tend to appear at a fairly high initial price, which then settles down as supply catches up and they become easier to find. The 60d on the other hand has been through this already so has reached its normal price.Give it a few months and the price difference will be a lot more noticeable, but if you are buying now, the little extra for the 60d seems a no-brainer.The only real reason I would opt for the 600d instead is if the size is an issue to you - the 600d is the more compact of the two, which could be a benefit to you if you are wanting something lightweight for travelling or a smaller second camera or something. -- http://www.flickr.com/photos/narcosynthesis http://www.illaname.deviantart.com
