Focus Question..

In landscape photography, where is the best place to focus, focal point, the camera to make sure the whole picture is as sharp as possible. I read an article that said it's best for the focal point to be about a third of the way into the scene, unless there is something in particular that you're wanting to focus on in the scene. BTW, I'm not talking about hyperfocal distance per se. I'm just wanting to know as general rule where is the best place to focus, focal point, in a landscape scene.

Place focus on the subject you most want to be in focus. Choose an aperture to give you the depth of field to keep the rest of what you want to be in apparent focus.
