It's been a few weeks since a 'scapes topic was initiated. Here's what LionKing would say:Hello everyone!!! And wellcome to the Weekly Lanscape, skyscape and seascape thread! This thread is about sharing the images and places we capture, constructive critique/comments to make those better, and some humor to keep it alive, in case someone feels offended in any way, first u can bring this up, and second we have no intention to hurt anybody's feelings, and have nothing personal against u!PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! don't forget to post large images, their setup/gear, and location if possible, to make things more readable please repy with the name of the original poster in the subject field, the c&c will be more than wellcome.

Took this earlier in the year but only cleaned it up last week and printed as a birthday card for my wife. East coast of Tasmania. We had a fun Sunday walk to the deserted northern end of Marion Bay - with great view to Maria Island. Weather was so nice that we even went for a swim (despite the cold water). The photo captures the mood of the place well.Taken on 5D, 24-105L 1/800s f/11.0 at 28.0mm iso200

The Remarkable Rocks are a well known scenic lookout on the southwest coast of KI. This was the one sunny day we had during a cold winter visit this past June. 20D + 10-22:

Hi Fred,Love the shot... I assume you used a polarizing filter or was it done in PP?Cheers, James

Thanks. Yes, I'm a sucker for deep blue skies and the CP filter pretty much lives on my 10-22. In this case I was fortunate enough to have the sun almost exactly at 90 degrees to the subject so the darkening effect was maximized. I did some tweaking of levels in PP, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Hi MikeTotally OT, but I saw in another thread you mention a worldwide insurance policy for all your gear. I also live in Aus (Sydney) - can you tell me which policy you have. I'm looking to insure about $8000 worth of gear for travel to Africa.Sorry for barging in guys, didn't know how else to contact Mike...Cheers, gL

I've been taking photos of this beach since 1982 and I still find it awesome every time. Having the 10-22mm the last couple of trips for these three shots made it even better. The first one is the only one with people, but it gives you a sense of the scale of the place. The last one is why it's worth getting up at 4:00 a.m. in the summer!

Sorry about the OT but in reply...I bought a Cameramans insurance through AON - they apparently do a lot of professional camera gear worldwide insurance.http://www.aon.com.au/small_medium_business/photographers.aspIt isn't cheap - worked out at about 4.5% of value but is a very solid worldwide cover for replacement value with a $100 excess on specified items. I think you can get a discount if you belong to one of the professional photographer institutes. It is underwritten by Vero. There is probably a Sydney branch but I did it via email to Adrian Obrien in Melbourne (he is named in the webpage link above)adrian.obrien@aon.com.auI just emailed him a listing of equipment with serial numbers and replacement cost and he sent me a policy and invoice. I add or subtract equipment as I required. I haven't had to claimi on it but it it is certainly piece of mind - such as off to Peru next week.Hope this is useful.MikeFrom beautiful Tasmania http://www.pbase.com/tasmart

There are some really beautiful shots posted here so far. They kind of make me feel embarrassed to show mine but here goes. These were taken to show the habitat present at Brazos Bend State Park (near Houston, TX USA).Greg

Hey, Tazz, I love that second shot! I'm not usually into the blurred water look but the way you framed the foreground just leads you in. Thanks for sharing.
