Fantastic. With the EU/UK sale ending that day I’ll either know to wait for the impending US sale for the 14/2.8 or wait for the 18/1.4.

Looking forward to checking this out- the AF on the 16mm 1.4 has felt a little slow (though perhaps it’s my old X-T1) but curious how much improvement will be made on that front.

my main concern is the size, it should be basically similar to 16 1.4, probably a little shorter.

I have to confess, with the announcement approaching I am becoming more and more excited. To me this lens is somewhat of a signpost of where fuji is heading with their lens lineup. although the fujinons can certainly produce nice results they fell behind the competition lately.my hope is, that this lens incorporates a new lens formula which amongst other additions rule out the gripes I have with the classic fuji lenses that areSince Fuji X is an APSC system, good performance wide open is a must in my eyes to achieve a certain level of subject separation. For this I dont require super thin DoF but rather a smooth rendition of background (like we see in the 90mm and 50mm f1) and crisp details in the in-focus zone.Its a bit difficult to count the elements but depending how I read it I count 16-18 elements and rather few groups. This could indeed be an indicator for a completely new lens design. Plus the overall construction looks like a rather long and narrow lens "path", similar to the Z nikkors.

I'd rather have it be sharp across the frame with minimum CA and a very close focus/light macro capability than anything else.Looking at the leaked images of the lens though my concern is that it's too long for my use since I was really hoping the overall length would be kept around 65mm. I'd also love it if the weight was kept to under 300g.
