Hi. If a Fuji X camera doesnt receive anymore firmware updates, does it still pick up lens corrections for to be released lenses? In other words, does this information reside in the lens itself so it can communicate this with any of the past camera bodies?

Yes, the lens correction parameters are contained in lens firmware and are applied automatically via RAW metadata by most RAW editors.
