Is MyFinePix Studio being discontinued? If so, how best to download photos?

For the last few weeks the update function in MyFinePix Studio (Windows 10) has given me an error message ("The update couldn't be installed properly (PGW00226). Failure while sending update request. Please check your Internet connection (PGW01501)". My internet connection is fine though. And I just saw that on the software'sweb page, there's a message saying "*The release of updater files for the MyFinePix Studio ended on March 31 2021.In case of transferring images by an OSHow to transfer images from a camera to a PC by a standard function of Windows"If that means that they're discontinuing MyFinePix Studio, what do most Fujifilm camera owners use to transfer images form the camera to the computer? FUJIFILM X Acquire? Or, no software, just Windows 10, as that last link suggests?

I'm still on Windows 7, but I've always just downloaded my images into a file structure of my own design within the computer's file manager. Once they're in place, I can open them in any software I like.  In my case, that's usually FastStone or Paintshop Pro.

Yes, MyFinePix Studio is being discontinued. If you need a free program that can do something similar, XNViewMP can copy files from SD cards into an arbitrary folder that you specify. There's a nice batch rename function as well. And it can preview the images on the SD card.XNViewMP doesn't have the greatest UI but it is very configurable and the program itself is quite powerful and quick.FastRawViewer can be used in a similar way and has other uses but is a paid program.I prefer XNViewMP of these two for importing. It has the tool exiftool embedded which is quite useful.I use Capture One to copy raws from my SD card into my storage file system. It's pretty fancy because it can make folders and sub-folders and rename files as well as apply presets whether metadata or adjustments automatically during import.Hope that helps!

Just plug your camera, with cards in it, into the computer. Open the file explorer program and find the camera listed on the left with the PC and the other drives (if you have any). Then search the camera for *.jpg files and they will populate. Copy and paste into a jpg folder. Do the same with the *.raf files and copy and paste those into the raf folder....or do it any way you want. Sometimes I search *.* and copy and paste all jpg and raf files in one big batch. Those are my steps. Good luck.
