New XF 35mm F1.4 Dust particle between elements

Cossio

Hello everyoneI had a question I have a brand new lens and I noticed when looking straight into the Iris there was a little speck of dust I took off the lens from the body inspecting it against the light and realize that there’s a dust particle between the elements it’s not on the front element nor on the rear element outside where I could use a dust blower and blow it off ...can this possibly affect image quality the only reason why I ask is because I’m super picky. I remember there was a thread once with similar question but could not find it.should I keep it and not worry about it? Generally shoot  at aperture  5.6 to 1.4 don’t normally go beyond 5.6or should I return / exchange the product?thoughts?

Oh man thanks so much! That reading definitely puts my mind at easy a bit. It’s funny because the thread you referred back to that has image sample of the dust spec is the same as mine. Mine looks just like that. Good to know.no need to return or exchange it Thanks Martin!Rightsaidfred wrote:Hi CossioThat's the thread:New lens Fujinon XF 35mm 1.4 - Grain insideAnd that's the article from Roger Cicala as cited by Bob:The Apocalypse of Lens DustBR,Martin
