70-300/55-200 for indoor sports?

Anyone out there with the new 70-300 or older 55-200 ever tried for indoor sports?whats the fastest action  setting can you get from it?can you post any pics if possible.Thanks

With the high shutter speeds necessary, even f/4 is likely going to be too slow in most situations (even at extreme ISOs). I’m not a sports guy, but have done a fair bit of theatre and indoor event shooting and the 55-200 didn’t really cut it (there will be some good shots, but they will likely be the exception, not the rule). You seriously want the constant f/2.8 50-140 and 16-55 combo for that sort of thing. I expect the 70-300 will be much the same as the 55-200 for indoor shooting.

Hello lvis. A shameless plug for a review I posted for the XF 70-300mm last week. I would have some worries trying to get good results for indoor sports with this lens. On the long end, the slow 5.6 f-stop will be a limiting factor. For outside sports, it's another story.
