Dumb Question - Anyone else having this barrel issue with their XC 15-45?

dumbfujiquestion

Hi - hoping some of you might have some insight into whether this is a quirk of this lens or a defect!I just purchased an X-T30 (which I love!) and got the XC 15-45 kit lens. I know there are some differences between Nikon lenses (which was my old system) and Fuji, but this felt a bit odd to me. I'd compare to a display model but none of the stores near me have this lens on display. When applying pressure to the front of the lens (such as using a lens cloth or attaching the lens cap) the front barrel of the lens moves a decent amount (about 1mm) both front to back and left to right. The glass is not loose - it's the entire front of the lens - and it happens even when the lens is off and collapsed. It's not a massive movement, and the images look fine to me (of course I can't be certain without a reference). On my old Nikon lens there was no barrel movement whatsoever but I know the power zoom on this 15-45 is a very different system. If anyone else with a 15-45 could tell me if their lens does this I would really appreciate it!(Please do let me know if I can clarify at all).

Just checked mine, no movement at all. Not sure I'd worry about it to be honest, do the pictures look good? Does the power zoom function smoothly?

Thanks! Yeah I'm inclined to let it be but I'm still in my return period so I'm just trying to be sure it's normal before that runs out.The zoom feels pretty normal (not great - but I hear that's par for the course on these little lenses haha) and I haven't been dissatisfied with the pictures at all, but of course I want to make sure it's gonna be able to keep taking pictures for a while and not fail on me. If it helps, here's an example photo:Thanks for your help!

I have 2 copies of the XC15-45, one brand new, and they both have a bit of "wobble" if wiggled.  The inner tube appears to screw in as I found my well used lens a bit loose once.  A slight turn snugged it up. Not to worry but they are not "pro" lenses and should be handled/used accordingly.

I would not worry. Also my XF 18-55 does show a bit of a wobble. IQ is fine. But not much as compared to my former cheapo Pentax kit lenses. There is zero wobble with my XF 16-55.BR,Martin

I checked mine too but found no movement in it.
