Soft Release Button for M11

chrismosk

Can anyone recommend a soft release button that is quality that is NOT Leica?  I can't see spending all of that money on a small piece of metal :-(.  I know I'm going to get flamed for spending all of this money on an M11 system and cheaping out on a button, but I digress.

I have purchased both Leica and non-Leica soft release buttons, and lost all of them within 2 to 3 days of use. Unless you glue them into your Leica, which I'd never do, they were a waste of $ for me.

I have a real cheapo one on now and keep screwing it back on.  I do like the feel of it.  Thanks for your input.  I'll see what others say.

I've never had a soft release button come off. On the M11 I using one from squarehood, the mini soft release button:Squarehood mini soft release button.

the only reason I like the button is the way it feels and looks, to be frank.

I use some generic brass buttons in black from Amazon which you can get from many Chinese sellers. They cost about $7, there is usually a convex & concave one in the package. As I already had two packs (for my Fujifilm X-T4 & X-Pro3), I tried the concave one on the Leica M11, but I don’t like them at all for photography. Convex shutter release buttons FTW!So I just ordered another pair of the same buttons for the M11. Some of the sellers also add rings, and they definitely work on the Fujifilm bodies where I never had one come off by accident.I use them mostly for ergonomics, and because I don’t like the look of an unfinished shutter release button.

This is how they look like, very simple:I don’t like the ornamental or colored buttons, but they seem to be popular. This black one works just fine for me.
