Is your PEN-F noisy when half-pressing the shutter button?

NiX82

Hey guys,So quick one, to owners of the PEN-F: does your camera also make a distinct noisewhen half pressing the shutter button, as if some sort of motor was running, regardlesswhether focus has been acquired? This happens to me for as long as I half-press the shutter button (and for a little less than a second after I stop pressing or taking a pic). It's the kind of noise the camera would do when struggling to acquire focus in low-light, for example. Not sure how to better describe it.It happens both in S-AF or C-AF (but I try to stick to S-AF with this camera), regardless of the lens I use, be it a zoom or a prime. And to be clear, this happenseven iffocus has been acquired.I know, I know, I've ranted similarily about another product (the PanaLeica 9mm), but this gear is hard to find in physical stores (to compare), so I have to ask in forums!Thank you very much for your help, cheers!Nick

When you half-press the shutter release, the image stabilisation system should come alive and that produces a rustling noise. You can see the effect in the viewfinder when you move the camera. Could it be this?

Thank you!Can I assume yours makes the same noise too?My OM-1 and my OM-5 are perfectly silent in this regard, so I'm not sure what to make of it (yet).

The IS on my Pen-F is a bit more audible than on my E-M10 so I suppose the type of body plays a role. But you can also set the IS to only engage when you actually take a photo.

older models make noise when engaging IS. Anything above E-M1ii becomes silent.
