One thing i notice is that you are shooting them too tight, lots of body parts cut off.

I think is it was my family I would be pleased with them . But  don't think that hey are at the point of being good enough to WOW people out side your familyI think that a good thing to work on would be white balance as that looks off in some and perhaps level of saturation. The guy in the red t shirt shot looks to saturated for a person shot

The first is backgrounds/context. Even with tight crops, the background plays a part. A good background is either neutral, or adds context, a bad background is distracting. Family won't mind, they're to busy watching the young'un.The other is timing. Portraits are all about expression - and if that is good enough, then the background hardly matters at all.The final thing to make the most of is light. Look carefully at photos you like and try to work out what part the light played. Harsh sunlight or typical room light usually poor. Soft diffused window light giving a directional quality with soft shadow transitions can be magic.
