WT-5 / D4 connectivity question/issue

walden

i’ve been using my WT-5 + D4  to send images to my iphoneX (then upload to photoshelter) flawlessly for a year or so. zero issues, great solution for getting news images uploaded from the field fast. however... i am suddenly getting a cannot connect to the IOS device errmsg. i —suspect— it is because my employer (who manages my IOS device) has a mobile device management profile that now specifies that “establishing untrusted TLS connections” are not allowed. i am -not- a wireless expert, but i wonder if the WT-5 is an “untrusted TLS connection.”. if this makes any sense...is there a workaround of any kind? any guidance/ideas/clever hacks would be GREATLY appreciated. for now, my $700 WT-5 is a small and expensive doorstop:(...and i can no longer easily upload news images from the field. THANKS!    walden kirsch

It’s only an idea, as I don’t know the exact definition of an “untrusted TLS connection”, but have you tried using Aiport Utility App (free download from App Store) to perhaps persuade the system that this is a known network?  Probably a long shot...I did have a similar problem with a works Blackberry when I first got my D4/WT5 back in 2012 and I did manage to persuade the two to talk by some means. But I just can’t remember the details now and the BlackBerry is long gone. And that workplace!
