Nikon D500 shutter count?

rgs_45

Hi all,I just got my "new" used D500 from KEH in EX - condition. So far looks very clean. Taking time to get familiar with it the last couple of days. Totally different from my Z7 ii. Got this to pair with my 200-500/5.6 for wildlife (large slow moving animals such as moose, deer, and some bird photography, NO BIF!)Aside from uploading a RAW file to myshuttercount website, is there a different way to find out what the shutter count on a Nikon DSLR? Below is the info that came out. My camera is only showing 3221 shutter count? I don't ifAny ideas?- Rich -

On a Mac, it's right mouse click "show inspector," on a PC I believe it's called "properties," look for image number in list. You might find Roger Cicala's recent post regarding things that affect camera life interesting:https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/66766210

1) It's very good. The D500 shutter should last around 200,000 actuations. You won the used camera shutter count lottery!2) Never heard of shutters rolling over from max.3) I don't know if Nikon resets the count to 0 after, say, a shutter replacement or not.4) PROFIT!

I got a D500 with around a shutter count of approximately 30000. I haven’t regretted the purchase. Test it thoroughly when you get it. If you detect problems then return it.The D500 is known more as a top notch action stills camera than a video camera. I am not sure that I would worry much about the camera being used extensively for video work.Enjoy the camera.

I don't ifI had to have the shutter replaced in a D850, and when returned from Nikon service, it had the same shutter count as when it went in.

There's plenty of life yet for this baby.Waiting for a Z DZ Pro + 200-600. In the future. In the meantime, I will make the most use of this camera-lens combo.2) Never heard of shutters rolling over from max.3) I don't know if Nikon resets the count to 0 after, say, a shutter replacement or not.4) PROFIT!Thanks.
