A local camera store still had a space for the D500 in its Nikon display case a few days ago. I asked a store rep whether they expected to get any more D500s. He checked the store’s inventory system and found that the D500 was indeed listed as “Discontinued”. He promptly removed the small D500 sign from the display case. There might be a store in a remote area that has a new D500 body, but I doubt it. Your best bet at this point might be to regularly check for a refurbished D500 body on the Nikon USA website. Buying a used body from a reputable dealer is also worth considering. You might also consider getting a D7500, which is still available new, and is the closest remaining Nikon DSLR to the D500.Good luck with your search.

The OP specifically asked about a new camera with a U.S. warranty.

I noticed that they offered the D500 in Sweden, Europe a couple of months ago. Also there was information that in Europe one can still find one from the VIP batches rolling out to some markets. Official piece commercialized in spring 2022.A really good used D500 is hard to find. I saw from the pieces having only 2000 clicks with dust and fungus infested to "as almost new" pieces having 100.000 + clicks that were refurbished after they had done 200.000 + clicks. Not to mention, a bunch of cracked ones, some repaired so clumsily it could be seen from low resolution photos. Awful to see.So I say once again: Nikon has made a bad mistake to axe the D500 prior to having a competent enough successor on the market. As the D500 is still a very relevant buy in 2023 if you deal with sports/wildlife stuff.  Nobody can deny it.Cheers.

I would contact Nikon directly and stay in touch regarding potential refurbs... It's gonna be awfully hard to find a new one. A smaller brick and mortar store might have one, so be diligent. the internet makes this pretty easy. Adorama and B&H are good sources, with easy return policies for 2nd hand stuff. Just make sure to let them know you want a USA Body only. Ebay is an alternate source, but it's more risky. I've bought a number of great lenses from Japanese vendors, but they're not USA warrantied...

Thanks.I got mine (body only) about a year ago directly from Nikon USA, placing the order through their website.I too wanted to buy new with Nikon USA warranty and for several months kept an eye on the websites of Nikon's Authorized Dealers and Nikon USA website.Nikon USA showed the D500 as "backordered" for months, then one day, out of the blue it was in stock. I immediately placed the order and then followed up with them to make sure it was actually available. It did not last long, though, the next day it was "backordered" again. As of today, the D500 has "Out of Stock" status. Interestingly, the kit with the 16-80mm is "backordered". No idea if that means anything or is it just a subtle, not significant distinction.Although it is a long shot, it might worth to check this page frequently:https://www.nikonusa.com/en/nikon-products/product/dslr-cameras/1559/d500.htmlFYI, I had contacted Nikon USA directly a few weeks prior to my purchase, to inquire as to when they thought it would become available. The lady who replied told me to ask their dealers..................Alternatively you may want to consider a used body from MPB.com or KEH.com. I have no experience with KEH, but since getting the D500 I purchased from MBP two lenses (16-80mm and 18-140mm) and the MB-D17 grip. All were listed as "like new" and indeed they came as such, with original packaging and accessories. The lenses even had the original Nikon USA warranty card. While I believe the warranty is not transferable, at least it was proof that the lenses were acquired by MPB in the US.I got the lenses at half price and the grip at 1/3 of the price. They offer a six months warranty on all purchases and the usual 14-days return window. I am pretty sure KEH does the same.Good luck with your quest, been there, done that...
