Z9 tethering

MO12345

Hello All,I am trying to tether my Z9 using the Nikon tether software and unfortunately cannot get the camera and the laptop synced up properly. Laptop os  is win 11. it shows that the camera is connected but I  cannot make any changes to the settings on the computer and when I take a pic, nothing shows up in the display window in either NX studio or lightroom classroom classic which I have set up to auto import.Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.MO12345

Is there a card in the camera while trying to configure the pairing?

Don't use the Nikon software, use Capture One. Also, make sure your USB mode on the camera is set to PTP.

I tried and gave up. NX Tether won’t show you the picture after capturing! NX Studio will. But it’s about 4-5 seconds transfer on a fast 5Ghz WiFi with a strong signal. Because the Z9 is sending full RAW files! I downloaded Capture One, but couldn’t figure out how to connect it.

I’ve done this by having NX Tether dump the files into a CaptureOne session folder and so they automatically appear as they are shot in CaptureOne.  I do it this way because CaptureOne does not (yet) support wireless tethering with Nikon.  If the camera is cabled, then there is no need for NX Tether and I can just go straight into CaptureOne.

Thankyou all for your feed back and ideas. I found thru Nikon usa site the latest version 1.01 NX tether optimized for Win 11. will try that and see if that helps.MO12345

Hi All.Updating this chat......I downloaded the NX tether 1.01 and got the latest lightroom classic update this morning v11.4 for windows and setting it up to auto down load in in lightroom after setting the folder perimeters in both NX tether and lightroom to match, I get the images in lightroom appearing within a couple of seconds with no problems at all.Thanks.MO12345

Is there any way to tether the Z9 to a macbook with live view? I have also used NX Tether and watched the folder in LR, but I really need live view on the laptop. Any options yet?
