Z9 Playback will NOT go to Sleep

DR_MN

I hope this is some oversight, but no matter what I try, my Z9 will not go to sleep when I playback an image. If I playback to look at a picture, it will stay on that screen until the battery is drained and I have tried every sleep timer imaginable with nothing working. Is there something I am missing? I have never had this issue with D750, D850 or any other cameras I own.Appreciate the help.

Check your Menu for Power Off Delay / Playback.  Power Saving = ON.

I just got it a couple weeks ago and I have been trying everything.Custom Settings MenuC3 Power off Delay- Playback, Menus, Picture Review, and Standby Timer all set to 20sIn the Setup Menu- Energy saving (photo mode) - On

No. I'll try that last, I'm assuming I will lose all my settings. Do you think the firmware update might address it? About to install that.

what happens if you half press the shutter? That should close playback and restore the camera to shooting mode

Yes, that works as you said but the root of the issue is that I want the camera to sleep. I routinely snap photos during procedures and I want it to sleep. It is either stuck in playback or shooting mode. Either way, the screen never sleeps despite the settings being correct from what I can tell. Ill try updating firmware shortly and see if the problem persists.

I turned on airplane mode and it immediately worked.  I guess that makes sense, is there any recommended settings to keep it connected to my wifi but not let it stop standby/power off?
