An encounter on the pier

Patflan

Saw a woman on the pier on Sunday shooting surfing with a 300mm F2.8. Took one look and decided I couldn't ask for her hand in marriage (her husband was with her) so robbery was my next thought. Unfortunately there is a police station nearby.

Maybe she would rent it by the week....or month.Bruce

Did she look like she'd been working out? I can't imagine lugging the 300 around without being in darn good shape.Have to confess I've never seen the 300/2.8 in person but I certainly know what 7+ pounds feels like. Heck, the 150/2.0 is load enough.Cheers,Rick

Photo or GTFOSo, legends must be true and Olympus actually sold 300s to people, and it's not just a religious babble by the Zuikophiles? -- Cheers, Marin

Took me about an hour to recognize it. It had a lens hood on. I sidled up to them and chatted for a while. Her husband and her do a lot of wildlife and bird photography. I think he carried a gun, not to protect her but to make sure no-one snagged the lens. Jokes aside they where nice people with nice equipment although while I was standing there she shot so many pictures that the E-3 she was using was gasping for breath.
