Needing help--E620 problem

Santa John

Hello everyone,I am having to problems with my E-620 and I was wondering if anyone could help me?1. My Aperture value is no longer showing up on my camera. I either have -.- showing or nothing at all when I try to find it on any other information. I have looked at other data information and it is not showing up so I don't know what F stop I am using.2. I am not getting my red light and beep when I push half way down on my focus button. I have also tried different settings adjusted the menu dial to try shooting different modes.I had to use it this weekend and I just used auto to be able to get the pictures. Not like I wanted but I got the pictures. If someone could help me I would like to try a few things before I have to send it in to have it checked out. Thanks for your help. -- Santa John Keep a song in your heart! http://www.pbase.com/santajohn

I found my problem. It was in my lens mounting. I removed my lens. Checked the pens and then replaced the lens. Now it is working. I went to the Olympus we site. Looked under Q&A and found something close to what the problem was. Once I looked it over real well and reinstalled the lens it is working just right now. I must have had my finger still pushing down on the silver lens button when I put it on. I know now to not make this mistake again. I missed some good shooting. But once again thank you for your help. -- Santa John Keep a song in your heart! http://www.pbase.com/santajohn

If it happens again, and taking off the lens and putting it back doesn't fix it, then gently cleaning the contacts (body and lens both) will probably do it.

If the lens isn't mounted correctly, you loose all communication w the lens... not just aperture, but AF as well (and MF too, unless you have a 12-60 or one of the other SWD lenses w a direct link to the focus ring) A quick dismount/mount usually fixes the problem -- Art P "I am a creature of contrast, of light and shadow.
