Crop Suggestions please...

atomicfish

I really like this photo of a Tufted Titmouse, but i have 2 different crops and am not sure which one presents better.I cant go anymore to the the left to bring the bird more to the right, it was drizzling at the time and I really like the water drops on the leaves/flowers, so do I keep both sets of leaves and have the bird to the upper left or cut off the farther set of leaves/flowers to bring the bird to a more traditional position in the photo.Number 1 ... Bird to the left and both sets of leaves/flowers.Number 2 ... bird more to the traditional right ( more space in front of him) but the second leaves/flowers cut off. Thanks Jeff

Nice shot. I vote for number two. It strikes a better balance between the color on the tree and the bird.

I'd suggest a horizontal crop with a touch of "rule of thirds" thrown in as well.

i like the first image more. if anything i would cut behind the bird, and leave space in front of her. in my opinion it will look the best.

I agree with Dan - #3 looks best! -- http://jonschick.smugmug.com/

I would crop the photo at right just 1mm after the bird's tail, so that there is no part of flower in the right down corner, which is kinda ugly.

I would crop just after the tail and then do an expanded crop in photoshop and clone in the left side to empty section of the expanded crop. This would give you the bird on the right of the frame with a nice off center pose.Dharma

If you have more there in the original, that is.2 bothers me w that bit of flower in the lower right... you could crop that out or clone it out w/o too much difficulty

atomicfish

and comments!I think this recrop with a little cloning in the lower right to remove the second set of leaves and a then adding a little more to the left (through cloning) thoughts?

dharma108

Nice job on the cloning--could try an even tighter crop on the right and see how that looks too. Definitely the best so far.Dharma
