Superbikes (E-5)
drvrfnd
Went to watch the World Superbikes this weekend here at MillerMotorsports Park. The E-5 w/EC-20 & 50-200mm SWD worked quite well. It was my first time trying C-AF on the E-5 and it did great. I wasn't sure how well it would track the bikes doing 150+ coming at me and with it being overcast. I would've had more keepers if I had used my monopod more.

Great angles on those first three shots Jake. Don't be afraid to push the ISO, when the weather gets bad. The E-5 can handle it. -- http://www.morallyambiguous.net/It was about time for me to publish a book!D620L -> D540 -> C750UZ -> E-500 -> E-510 -> E-3 -> E-5 + E-30 + E-P2

Thanks! ISO400 actually worked out perfectly for the most part. I was shooting in shutter priority and wanted to make sure whatever shutter I ws using at that time, that my apertuure stayed between F8-F11. I still wish I had some more reach, 400mm still isn't enough.Rob MacLennanwrote:Great angles on those first three shots Jake. Don't be afraid to push the ISO, when the weather gets bad. Very nice work on these. I like the composition of the first one a lot, and the low angle shot is just a great viewpoint!God Bless, Greg http://www.imagismphotos.com http://www.mccroskery.zenfolio.com http://www.pbase.com/daddyo

First one is just amazing and the second is also excellent! -- http://www.intopicture.com

That second shot, wow, talk about lean angle. If he were a slightly lankier rider then we'd be seeing elbows as well as knees dragging!Nicely taken. Panning is tricky, getting these machines when they're coming towards or going away from you is harder I think, focus can be tricky.

I've actually started going the other way, to just the 50-200SWD, but then again I'm right in the corners. I also prefer AP over SP, but I don't do a lot of panning.drvrfndwrote:Thanks! If I could get a media pass, then I could get away with only using the 50-200swd, but there are a few shots I would like to get which requires more reach. With more reach I could get a shot like the second one, but from the front. Maybe next year I will see how much it is to rent the 300mm f2.8.Rob MacLennanwrote:I've actually started going the other way, to just the 50-200SWD, but then again I'm right in the corners.
