For the guy in Oakland who's Olympus gear was stolen

Apparently, the Ashby BART parking lot Saturday flea market is the place to recover stolen goods...http://www.berkeleyside.com/2011/06/03/berkeley-flea-market-still-going-strong-after-three-decades/Was the initial thread deleted?

I was in downtown Denver today. Two young men tried to sell me a camera outfit ---- E3 with 14-42mm attached and a camera bag. No doubt in my mind these items were stolen. A bid of anger got into me as I feel for the victim of this type of crime.

I can't find the initial thread either, but if you google for him, you'll find his story again on Flickr. We sure hope he finds his gear (an Olympus E-3 and 14-35mm lens along with his wallet and phone). Can they trace the criminals if they use his phone?

Thank you very much for this information. I live near the flea market and will make a trip there tomorrow.Andrewteeewrote:Apparently, the Ashby BART parking lot Saturday flea market is the place to recover stolen goods...http://www.berkeleyside.com/2011/06/03/berkeley-flea-market-still-going-strong-after-three-decades/Was the initial thread deleted?

be prepared. I mean if you see your camera, what will you do? (i.e. call the police, have your serial card ready, etc.).Wish you success in recovering it.

Mr.NoFlash

search for serial numbers in JPGs of the internet http://www.gadgettrak.com/camerasearch/regards

I have my warranty cards, police report, etc.I just hope that I don't see the people that robbed me at the flea market. If I do see them though, I will call the police. It's raining today so they may cancel the flea market.Raist3dwrote:be prepared. I mean if you see your camera, what will you do? Basically any flee-market will do. There is San Jose not far from there, and then of course the city college every month or so ..I wonder if cameras will have something like this one day (I think it is kind of cool),http://edition.cnn.com/2011/TECH/web/06/02/stolen.laptop.returned/index.html

How nice it would have been someone who got in that cab placed it in lost and found.Raist3dwrote:be prepared. I mean if you see your camera, what will you do? IMHO, deleting those threads is a disservice to the members of this forum.
