Little bars ABOVE Expousre Comp??
MrStiles
Above the exposure comp scale on my E-5 there are about 6 bars, sometimes 3, what are they doing there? They start at left of center. Any help? Please.

They are from your flash compensation.
None
That sounds like you have exposure bracketing turned on. Check the second "camera" menu to turn it off.

The bar ABOVE the moving exposure compensation or manual exposure scale is the fixed reference scale for how many EV values you are over or under. It isn't visible unless you're setting manual exposure or exposure compensation. It also appears while you're setting flash exposure compensation or exposure bracketing.Getting to know a new camera often takes time and effort.Although it's tedious, it's worth wading through the instruction manual while trying each control and watching each indicator described.Either that, or carry the manual with you as a reference while learning to use any new camera.Good luck with your E-5 and hope it brings you much pleasure and many lasting memories.Tony

kieth, Your the only one that got it right, It was driving me crazy.thanks a million.
MrStiles
Anthony, It turned out it was my flash comp, I looked in the manual and couldn't find anything about it. I'd be interested to know where, if anyplace, the manual mentions anything about this. thanks for your help.

Mr. Stiles:The flash compensation (intensity) and bracketing instructions are at pages 76-77 of the English language instruction manual.Sometimes the index and the identifying diagrams for the controls and readouts in the instruction manual are useful for locating specific information in the otherwise voluminous and not well organized manual.I'm sure once the familiarization is complete, you'll have a lot of fun with the new camera : )Tony

in Chapter 5 "Flash photography" and at page 76 (in the swedish version) maybe another page nr in your language, but should be close to that anyway. Good luck!Have you used any other Olympus DSLR? The Super Control Panel is "THE" way to set most often used settings, and there the flash exposure value (over, zero, or under) is way down left. For me at least, the SCP is one of the best things among Olys DSLR-features, as convenient as can be...MrStileswrote:Anthony, It turned out it was my flash comp, I looked in the manual and couldn't find anything about it.
