Fred Miranda is reporting that along with uncompressed raw the A7II will be getting pdaf support though adapters.

Anyone know if the A6000 will be getting the same update?

I am hoping for the Auto ISO minimum shutter speed setting and maybe Continuous Eye focus. that would really increase functionality.

Dr Tone wrote:This is BIG news for you A7II owners.http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1396179That's really good newsBut it was predictable, because it promotes Sony's "One Mount Ecosystem" strategy. I predicted it in this forum after official announcement of the new strategy and A7rII.It will be very exciting to see how fast and accurate it's.

I personally believe there is a good possibility for it.This PDAF for A7II confirms that pre-A7rII hardware was capable, and increases the chance for A6000 to have the capability too. In case, Sony will release FW for it too, because it will promote the new "One Mount Ecosystem" strategy.

Woohoo!!!! I don't need an a7rii after allResult! Thank you Sony!

I certainly hope so.

"Along with this, the camera’s AF system sees a massive boost in performance with the 117-point on-sensor phase detection AF array now supporting adapted lenses, such as those from Sony’s A-mount line. This is similar to what we have already seen with the a7R II, and ensures fast, accurate autofocus performance with a vast variety of glass, making the move to mirrorless much easier."

Smart move!Any news or rumors about the performance of adopted Canon lenses or other big brands? Or maybe we have to wait for new adapters?

Hmm, I have a Metabones MK III - would I need to upgrade to a different adaptor to see the gains?

You could also ship the Metabones Smart Adapter III back to the factory for a firmware update - but eventually the convenience of user-installable firmware updates on Smart Adapter IV make it worth biting the bullet and buying the IV.Note that Fotodiox and Viltrox adapters are essentially stuck at the same firmware as Smart Adapter III, so they're not an upgrade from what you have now.

For the love God, please do the same for the A6000! I'll never be ale to afford an A7RII

Dr Tone wrote:This is BIG news for you A7II owners.http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1396179That will be amazing if true... Also if it's possible on A7II it's likely possible for A6000.
