The Zeiss FE55 1.8 lens is known as a superb lens. It is also a superb night sky lens.Using a Vixen Polarie tracker to track the camera, an a7r, FE55 1.8 lens, exposures set at 30 seconds, ISO3200 F4, RAW, vivid, auto white balance, manually focused using the evf magnified view at ISO6400 and F1.8.The Southern Cross star fieldhttp://www.pbase.com/gregbradley/image/161741221/largehttp://www.pbase.com/gregbradley/image/161741221/originalThe Large Magellanic Cloudhttp://www.pbase.com/gregbradley/image/161741486/largehttp://www.pbase.com/gregbradley/image/161741486/originalSotware used:Lightroom. PixInsight to align and stack the images and remove background gradients, Photoshop CC 2015 for final colour tweaking.I am wondering how the a7rii would go doing these types of shots or if that speckled colour noise in long exposure high ISO shots would be a real problem or not.Greg.
