Adapter for Contax 28mm f2.8 C/Y

jcampy

I purchased a Contax c/y 28mm to use on my A7II but I am confused on which to buy. I see many different ones that say it's for the E mount and Nex but some also say it won't work on the A7II. Anyone have a suggestion for one that's reasonably priced?

This is the one I have:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Contax-Yashica-C-Y-lens-to-Sony-E-NEX-adapter-Macro-Focusing-Helicoid-A6000-5T-7-/400912519781?hash=item5d583f9265:g:NQQAAOSwGvhUET6fThe inbuild helicoid is nice, cause it gives all your lenses macro capability.PS: ALL C/Y to e-mount adapters will work, there is no difference between NEX and A7 e-mount.

Some say they won't mount on the "II" cameras since they have a tighter metal lens mount, which could cause some adapters made for the looser mounts of the A7 & A7R to be too tight or not mount at all. That may or may not be the case in practice. An Olympus OM adapter I bought, which was described as not mounting on the A7(x)II models, is actually slightly loose on my A7RII. But if you want to play it safe, then buy one which specifically says it will fit the A7II...

I have 4 C/Y lenses, and bought a cheap adapter... the adapter allows light in around the mount. I ended up getting the MetaBones, and now I'm much happier.
