New Sigma 23mm 1.4 APS-C lens

After years of waiting, we got a 35mm equivalent fast prime from Sigma. The size seems similar to the 30mm 1.4.I guess it will blow the Viltrox (and probably the Zeiss), away, but I personally would prefer it a little slower but smaller. Anyway , good news!https://www.sonyalpharumors.com/triple-sigma-lens-leaked-specs-17mm-f-4-50mm-f-2-and-23mm-f-1-4-are-to-be-announced-soon/

Great news! I hope it will be as affordable as the other Sigma primes. I love my 56mm 1.4. The 16mm 1.4 is also nice but too large.

I still have the 56 1.4 which is a brilliant lens and sold the 30mm after a while because I don't really use that FL.I have the Viltrox 23 1.4 which works perfectly fine for my uses so I'd have to see how the new Sigma performs although I'm sure it'll cost more than the Viltrox, but if it turns out to be stellar, I wouldn't see a reason to not "upgrade".

To me 16mm feels like a wide angle, while 23mm is what I consider "normal".

The new Sigma would need to be significantly better for me to be willing to take the 30% increase in weight.

Probably 20 (or 18) and 35 would be preferable to me, in FF FOV.

Great! Finally!Curious about price. If performance similar to my 56f1.4 = instant buy!

Yet another giant size lense for compact apsc body.Still waiting for 23mm f2 or f1.8Strange situation, that on most popular e-mount system don't exist most demanding compact 23mm lenses.I think, it'sony cr1pple hammer lense standard to avoid concurrency with fuji. Why? - because "owned by mitsubishi"

AlexeyK77 wrote:Yet another giant size lense for compact apsc body.f1.4 lenses tend to be bigger. If quality is similar to their 56f1.4, it's size is fully justified (which is not much, smaller than eg. Fujifilm counterpart).Still waiting for 23mm f2 or f1.8You can buy Sony Zeiss 24f1.8, Samyang 24f1.8 or maybe smaller Viltrox 23f1.4. Plenty of lenses to choose from. No need to whine.Strange situation, that on most popular e-mount system don't exist most demanding compact 23mm lenses.I think, it'sony cr1pple hammer lense standard to avoid concurrency with fuji.
