Tamron 18-300mm f3.5-6.3 Di IIIa VC VXD for Sony A6400
Grizzlybob
Just got this lens for my A6400. Don’t normally believe all the reviews, but after half a day at the zoo and almost 800 shots, it is really sharp!! AF was spot-on and stayed on the focus point. AF is also fast to connect on the subject. Granted, it was a partly sunny to sunny day, but I was more than satisfied with its performance. Animals wete always moving, particularly the birds. It tracked all of the animals really well.

It's the most versatile lens that is also plenty sharp along the entire focal range and across the entire field. A marvel of modern optics, compared to older superzoom lenses.Certainly a keeper. Even better if you have DXO PhotoLab 5 or 6 with the Optics Module.

How is the AF in low light/night conditions?

I’m going to test that this weekend and I’ll let you know.

A very interesting lens indeed. How do you like its edge performance at wide angle (18mm) ? Reviews suggest that this might be a weak spot, reducing the lens' versatility for landscape shots.

Well, any results?

Good to read that! I compared my copy with my 18-135 and at 300mm my copy was quite soft, compared to the very sharp 135mm on the other lens, so I decided to keep the much much smaller and lighter 18-135 and crop at the long end if needed, with not much worse results.
