Can't think of a witty title

Flying Fishwrote:I think there might be aspects of a 5D that will please you, but many more won't, including the clunky user interface, its weight, its small, dark, low-resolution LCD screen, and so on, and I agree with the other posters that most of the time you won't see a big increase in IQ.I totally agree with you on this. I however was hoping that the trade offs would far outweigh the IQ, shallow-er DOF and better noise handling I would get with the 5D. Which I am now realizing is more of a dream rather than being practical. My own opinion is that the best upgrade for you would be a 60D. And you might want to consider keeping the 500D as a backup. I think the 550D probably has hurt its resale value.you think? what are you talking about? In addition to its "age", the t2i and t3i has murdered the resale value of the t1i. I've seen it plummet from 500ish to 400-450 tops.As for the 10-22 lens, I have one too, and it really does make an interesting sky look stunning, but I also don't often need 10 mm; 16 mm or so often is enough to do that. There are a few occasions when I'm really happy to have 10 mm but not many.Maybe, I am guilty of this, I find that more often than not I leave it at 10mm and then work it like a prime. I guess I just need more practice with it. But I do love it though, exceptionally sharp, lightweight and no moving parts whatsoever (aside from focusing ring and zoom ring). The good news is that you can get most of what you paid for it if you sell it, and then if you miss it, you can buy another one at a small or no loss, or one of the 2nd party lenses that are almost as good for less money. This is why I love photography gear. They almost never lose value (except camera bodies) and some people even get profits from selling used gear, how awesome is that? Why don't you borrow or rent a 5D for a few days?Considered it, but not too economical, I think. It's around a 100+ for 2-3 days plus I'd need to get my hands on some CF cards. Its just like pouring $$$ down the drain.FFEven your username wreaks of fullframe! Thanks for your help everyone, I've decided I'm sticking with my guns. I figured a 500d, 35/2, 85/1.8, and a 10-22mm isn't too bad of a deal.Although, 5.3 fps, 96%pentaprismVF and an integrated speedlite transmitter, a little better noise handling...Arggh! I hate everyone who made me look into the 60D!! -- I rejoice in keeping my mind open to pursue the simple, attainable things that are also the greatest. Cheers!
