I lurked here for about a year too before signing up.(The Panasonic LC5 and Leica Digilux 1 were effectively the same camera.)It'll be a real shame if all the accumulated knowledge and info on this site just gets wiped.Time to check out (or revisit) some other sites, I guess.-Dave-

I would hope that another entity such as a camera gear manufacturer would step up and take over hosting. If Nikon, Sony, Tamron, etc could take over, it'd still benefit everyone IMO.

Other threads will be locked. General thoughts also welcome, but hopefully community members can discuss other forum options moving forward.I may have missed it, but I cannot find an actual reason for the closure. Why are they not selling the site? It would be a terrible waste of collective knowledge just to kill it off.Or a fresh new start!

I was struck by that term. "role" = PEOPLE...lives, careers, families, friends and more. I hate "corporate speak".

It was a good ride with all of you. You are by far the most friendly bunch of Leica enthusiasts I hang with from time to time. Thank you for the sharing of knowledge, opinions, advice and insights.Hope to see you at other forums and very sad to see this site shut. How much can the internet archive save the site when it is shut, I wonder? It is 2.5 decade of photographic history gone.
