Many possibilities.  You ignored my questions so I'll stop.I'm outta here. Good luck .

Sorry I can't help."You only make suggestion after I started asking specific questions and posting sample photos to help understand the OP's issue. Your other post where you claim to help the OP is way off-target, not relevant to the OP's explanation on how he use the Capture NX.Regardless, I hope you can agree that the OP seem lock-on to the notion that he is only interested in resolving the "desaturated" Capture NX edit pane. To me, it is a non-issue since the OP claimnot doing any editing.I have wasted more than enough time and energy on this forum.I'll mark "Stop Receiving ..." subsequent notification on the thread.Over and out!

I'm not sure if this has been answered or not as the thread has gone off on a few tangents:If you have Picture Control settings that are wild (like Vivid), then you may get an extremely colorful and contrasty preview / embedded JPG. This is the image you see on the back of the camera and is used on your computer as well, depending on the software. So it's possible to view an unprocessed NEF file that will look quite bland, compared to the preview, if you do nothing else. The solution is to ignore the preview / JPG, then process your NEF images as you have always done, then see if you are happy with the results (without comparison to anything else). This is usually more more of a problem with non-Nikon applications, such as Adobe, because they load the NEF without adjustments. Nikon apps are supposed to honor more of the in-camera settings than most non-Nikon apps do, so it should look more faithful in NX2 to what you see in the previews / JPG.However, there can still be a difference. What a lot of people do is set up the in-camera Picture Control settings to be neutral (close to bland). The MAIN reason to do this is so that you get more accurate exposure control for your NEF images, because the after-shot feedback you get from the camera (such as histogram) is based on the JPG, not the RAW file. The non-RAW shooters will complain about this, because it means that you will not get SOOC (straight out of camera) JPGs that are as usable. If this is the case for you, that you need JPGs that are immediately shareable without adjustments, then use a SD picture control (or Vivid, if you're so inclined). But then you will not be able to trust your histograms as much. It's a tradeoff.Chris
