Early orders for Z9 filled yet?

PHXAZCRAIG

Seems awful quiet on the "Where's my Z9" front lately.   Everyone who ordered last year got their camera now?I ordered (direct from Nikon USA)  a Z9 on June 22, so not expecting anything soon, but it does seem odd to not see the constant Z9 availability posts.I've never been less thrilled to have a new lens, and I have 6 of them still unboxed.   Buying on sale, I've got 35f1.8, 50f1.8, 85f1.8 and 105s macro primes, plus 14-30 and 24-70f2.8.   Also have the FTZ II, and a 512GB CFExpress card.    Just no camera to try them on!

Aren’t you tired of those unboxing posts? But some still post them to various Z9 groups in Facebook if you want to see them.I assume you’ll probably receive yours in a month or so.I've never been less thrilled to have a new lens, and I have 6 of them still unboxed. I ordered my Z9 from my local shop in PA at the end of March and I will be getting the next one to come to their shop. When I ordered, I was number 8 on their list, and it has taken about 3 months to get to this point, so hopefully it will be in soon. I know I could have probably gotten one quicker by going through different stores, but I like my local store and they have always treated me well. When I called this week to get an update, they did say they have been trickling in over the past few months, but they haven't gotten one in the store for a few weeks.

ROFL no they are still WAY behind on pre-orders. B&H on June 25th just started filling pre-orders for November 17th. They are still 11 days away  from getting the first month of pre-orders filled. This is just ONE store and there are plenty of people belly aching about still not having their Z9 from ordering in November and December. It's still going to be many months before Nikon can catch up. And with the new 2.1 FW even further improving the AF, more people are going to start putting in new orders.

Early December order at local store. Still waiting…

m_black

Ordered on announcement day via NPS. Fortunate to get it Dec 26th ‘21.

I ordered from a small store a few weeks ago, and got one within a week. For anyone who is looking for a Z9, reach out to the smaller stores in your area, and you may get lucky. If you order from the two big New York stores, you could be waiting a looooong time.

I think from the UK.Being an optimist I would say Nikon is catching up with demand. First swallow does not yet make summer though. When is the first dscount

At least in the US they're taking orders.Last month Amazon.it was taking preorders for about 3 minutes. Nikon.it a few days later took pre orders for a few seconds. That's about it.So no Nikon hasn't caught up yet.

Not Nikon Amateur Services. But even if you're not a working pro, if you have a website and an ASMP membership, you're golden. You don't even have to submit published work if you have those two things.Like I said, ridiculously easy.

Apparently, the older qualifications were much more strict, requiring something along the lines of deriving the majority of one’s income from photography or videography. That set of qualifications is still accessible on the web from outdated sources. My guess is that links to the specific information page listing the older qualifications have been removed from Nikon’s website but the actual page itself is still in published mode. Nikon probably created a new renamed page listing the up to date qualifications which is why outdated sources can and do still send people to the old info. From Nikon USA’s website:https://www.nikonusa.com/en/service-and-support/nps/index.pageAs you can see, someone earning nickels creating YouTube videos as a hobby qualifies if they own two qualifying Nikon bodies and lenses. But someone earning $40,000 a year shooting for their local paper won’t qualify if they only own one Nikon body amongst other gear. Which makes sense from the standpoint of content creators providing more free advertising for Nikon than local news photographers do.It’ll be interesting to see the long term affects, if any, the expansion of membership has for Nikon.

I think if you look at smaller stores (and globally) you’ll see orders from Q2 this year being shipped to customers (even in this thread).

toth0401

I ordered my Z9 from my local store on the 23rd of March and picked it up last week. A little over 3 month of wait time. When I would call or stop by for an update, some days they would have information about shipments and some days they wouldn't. It seemed they were getting 1-3 Z9's in per month, they just never knew exactly when or how many they would get. The store did tell me their list has gotten longer as the year goes on, however, so demand seems to be going up around here in Pennsylvania.
