Pure conjecture and tongue in cheek on my part. The longer they wait, the more likely that another manufacturer will get "my" business. It's that simple, i.e., I would be a brand new customer and not someone that has been vested in a lens system, waiting and waiting. I think that by April-May next year the choices available to me will be such, that Pentax will simply become a fond memory. Photokina and CP+ have better something interesting and worthwhile. And with Pentax having raised the prices of many of their lenses, it should be a cinch to sell my used ones for almost the same I payed, if not even get a premium return. These are interesting times indeed...

I'm NOT some troll, or something (actually look more like an ogre, maybe)I have NO IDEA if this "RiceHigh" character's predictions have any basis in reality, but I can tell you this... His spelling and grammar ARE ATTROCIOUS! Is English his first, second or even THIRD language??? Even if it ISN'T, since he's making web postings in it, can't he get SOMEONE to proof-read his posts first. For some folks, credibility flies COMPLETELY out the window when they see spelling and grammar like his! Would only be interested if it uses a non-cropped 645 sensor.Really, the cropped 645 sensor is not much bigger than 36x24.

So I guess you would be willing to pay the $30K a full size 645 sensor camera would cost even from Pentax? That particular sensor used in the 645D is used by every other maker of MF DSLRs in at least one of their models. and all their cameras with that sensor cost $20k or more. It will be awhile before even Pentax could make a FF 645 camera for close to $10k.
