Voigtlander Heliar Ultra Wide-Angle 12mm???

tonyreidsma

I have another question.I'm going to get the Rokinon 12mm Fisheye, and I'm wondering how you handle it in post?Does the image captured go edge to edge or is it circular?Anything else you think I might need to know would be great. Thanks,

I just use LR to process them. You can get de-fish software to linearize it. But I have not tried it.You may want to practice with a fisheye lens to see how it distorts.

http://www.photoclubalpha.comWhile primarily an A7RII review, David Kilpatrick notes that he has purchased one of the lenses for his personal/professional use. I'm not into hero worship, but David still does the best Sony related reviews around when he gets the time, and he also knows lenses as well as anyone. If he was willing to spend his own money on one of these, it definitely has something going for it.

The sky should look blue but it looks a bit purple to me. I tried this lens first but noticed some color shift on my A7II.

David is pretty good about responding to questions on the forum site.I think it has a pretty bad vignetting, in addition to color shift. I just did a quick search and found the article I saw before:http://www.photozone.de/sony-alpha-aps-c-lens-tests/544-voigtlander12f56nex?start=1I sent my Voiglander 12mm back for these reasons. It did not work well on my A7II. Hopefully, their new E-mount lens will solve these issues. I am surprised that his review did not address any of these.I did a quick read on David's review and had some questions. I posted it on the comment section of his website. In his article, he suggested that one should turn off the lens OSS but keep the camera IBIS on. I don't think one can do that with the Sony camera. We'll see what he responds...

Oh, I'm talking about two different things. My main reason to start this is to shoot fisheye and I ordered a panoramic tripod head as well to remove any parallax. What's happened is I didn't know I could remove the fisheye, so it's gotten me thinking I might use the lens for landscape as well, but that's just icing on the cake.
