If you could have the newest sensor and processor in any body ever, which one would you choose?

I assume this precludes IBIS, so naturally if I had this magic modded camera, I would buy a bunch of stabilized long lenses to go with it. I would also take it to Panasonic here in Japan and ask them to make me another one or five.

Been wishing for that exact thing for years!

There was no other interchangable lens digital camera like it at the time. Compact and stylish. For a brand that likes to extol the benefits of a compact and light system, it makes no sense that OM System doesn't have a single pancake prime lens in their line-up. Come on!

Also thinking that pretty well all Panasonic lenses that truly need IS already have it and also a few that could have managed without it.

Another GM5 well-wisher and I might wonder if the G100 might be on the way out to be replaced by 'it'.

I should have been more clear! I would take the OM-GM5 to Panasonic and ask them to make me another one! Or five!

The GM5 would be too small for me to access everything the OM-1 would offer and the G6 does not have enough dials and buttons, so it's the GX8 for me, and I'd be fine by that. It's just the right size and has wonderful ergonomics and will fit in the same bag I'm using right now, Perfect.

For me it's GX9, mainly for the wonderful tilting screen, small size, and generally good range of controls and features. Personally, I find it a much more enjoyable camera to use than the G9 or OM-1, at least when I don't need their more advanced features. The only thing I really dislike about the GX9 is its poor AF, which would presumably be fixed by the hypothetical PDAF sensor and new processor.

I already have it.

Lumix g7this would have cleaned up making m43 a winner.at a time where you had to buy it if you wanted 4k on a budget, it would have sold loads more.now you want to buy the g85 or greater if you got a sizable budget.

Hopefully that would also fix the 4K video crop.

If at least it would also get electronic first curtain... the original E-M5 is still my favorite camera body. It has the tilting screen, not that tilt/swivel design that forces you to first turn the screen 180 degrees to the left before you can tilt.

I would go for the Olympus EM5 mkii (with an upgraded battery door).I thought the build felt fantastic and the grip could be added when using large lenses.

Tell us as much or as little as you want, of why you chose that camera, but please limit it to one.You must possess the body you are advocating for, we will cheat and say of you have broken dials, stuck shutter, etc, they would also be fixed for free, but you must have the camera body. You get the updated sensor and processor only (no complaining your PEN-F has a fully articulating and you want flip, or please also replace my field sequential evf on my gx85)..... Besides the processor and sensor, you are stuck with all the other components and build materials, it would be a modded cam, not a full reinvention. You get to keep all your lenses, so no need to tell us about em, just the camera you'd choose, and why (if you care to share). Please name your camera in the title, so if the discussion fills up, we can see majority cameras quickly from the thread string.
