Just my opinion and I would be happier with a site where I did not have to ad-block to make it bearable. You mean you would be happier with a site that's not like dpreview?Frankly the advertisements on dpreview have never bothered me - they are easy to ignore.mu-43 advertisements are huge, and right in your face slap bang in the middle of the conversation.Any site that cannot be navigated sensibly without an Ad Blocker is not for me.I am a bit surprised that anyone might think that huge advertising presence that makes a site viable is quite ok if such advertisements that make the site viable are routinely blocked by all its users.Something wrong with someone's theory there.Iadoreabhor intrusive advertisements as much as anyone, Tom, but I recognize that only advertising, user fee/contribution, or external sources can "pay the bills", and altruism does not. I installed Ad Block a few years ago and it is unobtrusive. 99% of the time I don't know it is there and don't know how many advertisements it has blocked. The remaining 1% only requires me to [temporarily] disable ad blocking to gain access to a particular site. Does your television have an ad blocker? No but you've grown accustomed to watching 20 minute shows padded by advertisements to 30. It is I who loses if I deprive myself of good material written by good writers just because of the relatively arbitrary reason that the site needs advertising revenue to meet expenses and pay workers.Besides, AdBlock even blocks most YouTube ads that interrupt videos mid-syllable.

I like it but it is now really different and pretty basic. I can't ask anyone who is doing it for free over there to do more, but it would be nice if they culd recreate the look of this site and add a place for galleries etc. I would pay for galleries actually.

I like camaraderie because it's owned by an individual. mu-43 was purchased and is now owned by a media corporation. The former does not retain rights to your pictures, the latter (mu-43) changed it's TOS when it was purchased, and they claim rights to your pictures. This new micro43.org looks promising as a dedicated m43 site.

It's not as convenient as uploading images as DPR, but that all just becomes normal in time. It's a pretty good option and they are still working on it.All the best Steve.Danny.

Cancer. Divorce. Southbound in the northbound lane. You name it.I keep saying this (and perhaps I should just shut up!) but what isreallyneeded is a site that is organized as a non-profit, with a board formed of its users. That way, when some key person meets a southbound semi in their lane, others can carry on.Think Wikipedia. They will be around long after all individually-owned sites (and their precious information) are long gone.If anyone is seriously interested in this, I have lots of experience setting up and running non-profits and cooperatives. But perhaps I'm just an anachronism in today's "ownership society."

Nearly there. I may occasionally browse one of the new forums but don't intend getting involved any more.

However, if they should end up with separate subforums for OM fans and Lumix G fans, then I might end up inhttps://micro43.org.I like the M43 system, whatever the brand, and don't like splits.
